If you're getting ready to replace gutters on your Utah home, the first question is almost always the same: what's this going to cost me? After 20 years of installing seamless gutters across the Wasatch Front, we've found that homeowners are best served by straight numbers — not vague "depends on the project" non-answers.
Here's what to actually expect in 2026.
Typical Gutter Installation Pricing in Utah
For most single-family homes on the Wasatch Front, expect to pay between $8 and $15 per linear foot for fully-installed seamless aluminum gutters. The full-house range for an average home with about 150 to 200 feet of gutter ends up between $1,200 and $3,000.
That number moves based on a handful of factors — and a quote outside that range isn't necessarily wrong, but it should come with a clear explanation.
What drives the price up
Linear footage. More gutter equals more material and labor. A two-story home with a complex roofline will run more than a single-story rambler.
Material. Aluminum is the standard. Steel and copper run 30% to 200% more, respectively.
Gutter size. 5-inch K-style is the residential default. 6-inch costs more but handles heavy mountain runoff better — usually worth it on the east side of the valley and at higher elevations.
Number of stories. Two-story and three-story homes need taller ladders, more setup, and more crew time. Expect a 15% to 25% premium.
Downspouts and elbows. Each downspout typically adds $40 to $80. Complex roof geometry means more downspouts.
Add-ons. Leaf protection, ice melt heat tape, splash blocks, and gutter extensions all add line items.
What drives the price down
Single-story homes with a simple rectangular roofline.
Standard 5-inch aluminum in a stock color (white, brown, almond).
Existing gutters that come down easily without rotted fascia underneath.
Scheduling during the spring shoulder season instead of fall rush.
How to know you're getting a fair quote
A trustworthy quote will spell out:
Total linear footage being installed.
Gauge of aluminum (.027 vs .032 — thicker is better).
Hanger type (we use hidden inside hangers — concealed, every 24 inches).
Number of downspouts and their placement.
Color and finish.
Disposal of old gutter material.
Workmanship warranty length.
If you're seeing a quote dramatically below market, it usually means thin gauge material, spike-and-ferrule hangers (the cheap kind), or labor that won't show up when something goes wrong.
A note on "too cheap to be real"
We see homeowners burned by cut-rate installs every year. The signs are predictable: gutters pulling away from the fascia after the first big storm, joints leaking, downspouts dumping water against the foundation. The cheapest install almost always becomes the most expensive one over five years.
